The Tyger and His Reflection Porcelain Ornament
Inspired by a miniature from a Kalila wa-Dimna manuscript produced in Egypt circa 1310. This particular miniature was an illustration for the eastern version of Aesop’s fable “The Dog and Its Reflection”. This allegory, which discusses the foolish desire for more rather than being content with what one has, was often incorporated into medieval bestiaries and animal lore.
Each ornament is handmade in porcelain, handpainted and glazed to a high-gloss finish, and embellished with 22k gold luster accents. Each piece is unique and one-of-a-kind. Small marks and minor imperfections may be visible due to the nature of the handmade process.
