Courtly Love Porcelain Apothecary Jar

$195.00

This hand-painted porcelain apothecary jar features an illumination from the Codex Manesse, an early 14th century German manuscript anthologizing the works of 135 poets. This particular illustration accompanies the work of Herr Bernger von Horheim, a Rhenish Minnesänger of the late 12th century who wrote in the tradition of courtly love.

The lid of the jar features a medieval crescent moon with a face in profile. The jar and lid are both accented with 22k gold details.

Measures approximately 3.5 inches in diameter and 6.5 inches tall with the lid on.
