The Moon Stoneware Tarot Card Ornament in Gold

$95.00

This hand-painted stoneware ornament features The Moon, the eighteenth Major Arcana card in traditional Tarot decks, hand painted in blue on white stoneware clay with a high gloss finish and outlined in 22k gold luster. Measures approximately 2 1/4" wide by 3 3/4" tall.

The Moon is the tarot card ruled by Pisces (February 19 - March 20).

It depicts a full moon with a crescent within, alluding to the doubles visible in this card. Drops of light fall from the moon, illuminating a path that winds between two towers, disappearing into the distance. The moonlight symbolizes mystery and the unknown, with only reflected light to guide us along the path. The path stems from a pool of water in the foreground, representing our unconscious. A crayfish rises from the depths and begins to crawl out of the pond, representing our most primitive self striving to attain manifestation. The crayfish is also symbolic of Cancer, the astrological sign which rules the moon. Further along the path, a dog and a wolf howl at the moon, echoing one another. The wolf represents the wild, instinctual aspect of our minds, while the dog represents a more tamed, civilized awareness. They demonstrate the fine line we walk between conscious and unconscious when we take the path within.

• Meaning: Illusion, fear, anxiety, subconscious, intuition, self-examination, hidden things, deception

• Element: Water

• Ruling planet: Neptune
