Hand-Painted Stoneware Tarot Card Ornament: The Sun

$50.00
Sold Out

This hand-painted stoneware ornament features The Sun, the nineteenth Major Arcana card in traditional Tarot decks, hand painted in full color on white stoneware clay. Each ornament is fired with either transparent crackle glaze (for a glossy surface) or raw (for a velvety matte texture) and tied with a ribbon for hanging. If you have a preference regarding surface finish or ribbon color, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate if inventory allows. Each ornament measures approximately 2 1/4" wide by 3 3/4" tall. Please note that colors may vary slightly from ornament to ornament, and the item pictured in the listing photo may not be the exact ornament you receive.

The Sun depicts a naked child happily seated on a calm horse with no saddle or reins, indicating direction by will alone along with perfect balance and harmony, implying the joy of being connected with one’s inner spirit. He appears full of joy and energy, and his nakedness implies innocence, purity, simplicity, and the ability to be reborn anew. The child carries a banner, signifying celebration and victory. A large, anthropomorphized sun shines above a stone wall with four sunflowers growing above it, representing the four suits of the Major Arcana and the four elements.

• Meaning: Positivity, joy, enlightenment, warmth, success, vitality

• Element: Fire

• Ruling planet: Sun
