"Snow White & Rose Red" Porcelain Folklore Egg

$75.00

Our Folklore collection of porcelain eggs draws inspiration from Pysanky, a tradition of egg decorating in Ukrainian culture that originated in Pagan times. Handcrafted in fine porcelain and painted in rich cranberry red, each egg showcases a scene from a beloved story alongside traditional Pysanky motifs.

The central tableau on our "Snow White & Rose Red" egg depicts the sisters encountering the bear. Encircling them is an intricate pattern of interlocking circles, diamonds, and roses. The flowers symbolize beauty and youth, while the circles offer protection against malevolent forces. Associated with spring dances and games, peace, love, and goodness, circles and belts were also used to decorate eggs given to safeguard against familial betrayals and as a spell to foster affection for the unloved.

The egg's design, with its myriad crossing and interlocking belts, echoes the intersecting paths of the bear and the two sisters. The steadfast footprints of the bear are depicted as dots, flanked by lines representing Snow White and Rose Red.

Celebrate the timeless themes of sisterhood, compassion, and courage found in “Snow White & Rose Red” with this beautiful porcelain egg. Whether showcased on a mantelpiece, nestled in a decorative bowl, or gifted to a loved one, these eggs serve as captivating conversation starters, inviting you to delve into their intricate symbolism and return to the enchantment and wonder of classic folktales.

Each egg measures approximately 2.5 inches in length.
